2016 Beta: Where did the Uncustomize option go1 votecompleted · AdminScott Durow (Product Manager, Ribbon Workbench for Dynamics CRM/365/Power Platform) responded
Added uncustomise back in v3.0.8!
You should not change the default behavior of CTRL + arrow. Currently it shows or hides the toolbox or property window (depending on the arrow right/lift). Remove this behavior and use the default CTRL+Arrow behavior in a textbox.1 votecompleted · AdminScott Durow (Product Manager, Ribbon Workbench for Dynamics CRM/365/Power Platform) responded
Thanks for the feedback.
This is implemented in the next release of the Ribbon Workbench!
The only reference google finds on your site is "this is a free text field that points to a 'Core' command that is outside of the solution" on .
I neither found CommandCore in RWB's XML view nor did I find it in MSDN's RIbbonXML-Reference.1 votecompleted · AdminScott Durow (Product Manager, Ribbon Workbench for Dynamics CRM/365/Power Platform) responded
Command Core is used to reference a Command by ID when the command is defined in the managed layer rather than the solutions unmanaged layer.
Consider if you customise an out of the box system button. Only the button is added to the unmanaged layer – the command is still managed and so it is no in the solution. For this reason, the Command drop down will be empty on the Button, but the CommandCore property will contain the ID of the command that is referenced.
Hope this helps
When working in the 2016 beta, there is a drop down for Library in the Action section. I'm unable to determine how to search (which might be my problem) but by default it shows just the first 50 (or maybe 20, didn't count) js files, and of course, the file that I wanted to select, didn't make the cut.
Please make lookup allow for "fuzzy" search, and/or validate that the library exists that is selected.4 votes
This issue is fixed 3.0.17 – thanks everyone for their help!
I'm using the XrmToolBox plugin beta (v188.8.131.52). When prompted to load a solution, I get the solution friendly name and schema name. It would be very useful to see the version of the solution too, since Microsoft's introduction of patching for solutions this would make it easier for me to see which solution I should load in.1 vote
This is now implemented in version 3.0.18!
Thanks for your suggestion :)
Can you allow copying of Display rules, enable rules, buttons etc8 votes
Thanks for supporting the Ribbon Workbench!
The beta version of the Ribbon Workbench 2016 now supports copy/paste via the clipboard.
Hi, thanks for this great article: "create-a-workflow-short-cut-ribbon-button-no-code".
But one question will the workflow ID not different between Development, Test, Stage and Productive enviroment?1 vote
As Rob says – if you move the Workflow with a solution it will retain it’s Unique ID
Since there is no filtering option on solution list and I have lots of little solution on Dev environment, I cannot select the solution that I want to work with. There should be filtering according to unique name.3 votes
I have added a search box in the latest version (3.0.17)
Thanks for your help!
"Convert To" button missing the email ribbon in the 2016 Beta in XRMToolbox. It shows up fine in the installed Solution1 vote
This is now fixed in version 3.0.18!
When updating the solution to version 184.108.40.206 in CRM 2016 Update 1.0, the solution is failing to update because of a web resource size.
Display Name: dev1_/RWB2013/RibbonWorkbench.xap
ErrorTexl: Web Resource content size is too big1 vote
This can be fixed by increasing your attachment size (it must have been decreased from the default 5MB). See https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/kennethw/2011/08/19/how-to-increase-crm-2011-attachment-file-size-from-5mb-to-maximum-32mb/

It would be nice if the LCID would be visible again so you have the connection between the language and LCID especially when you have a lot of languages.1 vote
Added in v3.0.8
Could you please provide the latest planned version after 220.127.116.11. Right now we cannot update as well as work :( Hoping for your quick action.
Thanks & Regards,
The updated version is available now. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Hi Scott, the workbench tool is continuously giving the message to download and update to newer version 18.104.22.168 even after updating solution from 22.214.171.124.
Please help, Thanks in advance.
You should see an update to 126.96.36.199 come through next time you open the Ribbon Workbench that will solve this issue.
Will my settings revert to stock if I remove ribbon workbench from the CRM?0 votes
If you remove the Ribbon Workbench – no changes to your ribbon customizations will be made at all. You simply won’t be able to use the Ribbon Workbench anymore!
It is always advisable to only do Ribbon Customizations in a Development/Test environment – and move you customizations to the Production environment using a solution export/import process.
Hope this helps!
Hi Scott, Nice tool and very helpful, if possible giving us Copy and Paste (Cloning) button and command with an unique ID, later we will just rename it :)
Thanks. Very nice.6 votes
This feature is available in the up and coming beta release.
This is a a wonderful tool. I am surprised why Microsoft did not invest in creating such a tool and left developers astray.
There is a bug in publishing. This is how CRM works. If you want to check an attribute's value with null in the ribbon, you have to used Value="". You cannot use Value="null".
However, if you have a display rule and want to check for empty value, publishing fails. This is because the editor does not add Value attribute if left blank. This leads to error while publishing.3 votes
Thanks for the feedback – I’ve fixed this in v188.8.131.52.
When creating a ValueRule for a field such that you want the Value to be blank, Ribbon Workbench Editor does not add "Value" attribute. The leads to error while publishing the solution. If this is manually updated by exporting the solution, then ribbon workbench editor works fine.1 vote
Thanks for the feedback – I’ve fixed this in v184.108.40.206.
