Launch a workflow from a button
I would like to have a third type of action in a command that enables me to select a workflow. So that I don't have to write any longer some javascript that will call this workflow.
Is this possible?127 votesThanks for supporting the Ribbon Workbench!
The beta version of the Ribbon Workbench 2016 now support smart buttons. The initial smart button solution allows adding workflow buttons ~ – for more info see http://develop1.net/public/post/Smart-Buttons-in-the-Ribbon-Workbench.aspx

Vote for 'Ribbon Workbench for Dynamics CRM 2013'
As we all should know, the Ribbon is being removed in Dynamics CRM2011 and replaced with the 'Command Bar':
However, the Command Bar is still customised using RibbonDiffXml and the Ribbon is still there on a few system forms and in the current version of Microsoft Outlook's list views.
So the question is...What should we call the Tool?

Vote for: "Command Bar Workbench for Dynamics CRM 2013" http://bit.ly/12LbwDMPersonally - I'm leaning towards sticking with Ribbon Workbench.
Have your say!9 votesThank you to those of you that voted on this – it was almost equal between the two, so I’ve decided to stick with Ribbon Workbench for the following reasons:
1.The Command Bar in CRM 2013 is still defined with RibbonXml, but rendered differently. A new DisplayRule is used to exclude certain buttons from the CommandBar.
2.The Ribbon is still present on non-refresh entities and in Outlook so it’s important to still have support for Ribbon editing.
3.Since the Ribbon Xml remains unchanged, it’s important to understand and differentiate between Tabs/Groups and Layouts.
4.The Ribbon Workbench is already an established ‘brand’ than people know about.
So until we have CommandBar XML in a future version of Dynamics CRM – it’ll always be the Ribbon ‘XML’ Workbench with a silent ‘XML’!
The Ribbon Workbench for Dynamics CRM 2013 beta will be available for download very soon:

Make the image resource URL editable, so you aren't restricted to select only webresource images.
Now you can only select webresource images for the buttons. Make this field an editable text field, so I can reuse CRM images, which are located below the '/_imgs/...' folder.

Thanks for your continued support and feedback!

Hi Scott, Nice tool and very helpful, if possible giving us Copy and Paste (Cloning) button and command with an unique ID, later we will just rename it :)

Make localised label for a button
We use Dynamics CRM in Russian and ribbon workbench button is labeled as "Other". It is a little annoyance, but it's easily fixable.
The simlest way to do this is to add labels for every language with "Ribbon Workbench Editor" in them and ask native speakers to send their translations for this label.

Not all JS files show in Library Drop Down
When working in the 2016 beta, there is a drop down for Library in the Action section. I'm unable to determine how to search (which might be my problem) but by default it shows just the first 50 (or maybe 20, didn't count) js files, and of course, the file that I wanted to select, didn't make the cut.
Please make lookup allow for "fuzzy" search, and/or validate that the library exists that is selected.

Fix the empty value bug
This is a a wonderful tool. I am surprised why Microsoft did not invest in creating such a tool and left developers astray.
There is a bug in publishing. This is how CRM works. If you want to check an attribute's value with null in the ribbon, you have to used Value="". You cannot use Value="null".
However, if you have a display rule and want to check for empty value, publishing fails. This is because the editor does not add Value attribute if left blank. This leads to error while publishing.

CRM 2011 Rollup 13 Compatibility
Are there any plans to provide an update for those folks on Rollup 13? I'm unable to publish the solution.
3 votesHi, The Ribbon Workbench already supports UR13 – I suspect there maybe an issue with your customisations. Could you open a support ticket and I’ll see if I can help you out.

Cannot Select My Solution - Solution List on 2016 Beta
Since there is no filtering option on solution list and I have lots of little solution on Dev environment, I cannot select the solution that I want to work with. There should be filtering according to unique name.

Give better feedback when upload fails
I wanted to install the changed ribbon for our solution, but the upload kept hanging on 96.9%. Retried several times, same result.
Next, I tried exporting/importing our solution myself, but now on import CRM said that I was trying to (de)activate a process for which I was not the owner. After fixing the ownership of a few new processes in our solution I was able to import the solution.
I then re-tried the ribbon workbench, and now it worked.
It would be nice if ribbon workbench would have told me about the upload-failure due to the wrong process-ownership.Nevertheless, it…

What is "CommandCore"?
The only reference google finds on your site[1] is "this is a free text field that points to a 'Core' command that is outside of the solution" on [2].
I neither found CommandCore in RWB's XML view nor did I find it in MSDN's RIbbonXML-Reference.[1] https://www.google.de/search?q="commandcore"+site%3Aribbonworkbench.uservoice.com
[2] https://ribbonworkbench.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/81981-2-customising-standard-ribbons1 voteCommand Core is used to reference a Command by ID when the command is defined in the managed layer rather than the solutions unmanaged layer.
Consider if you customise an out of the box system button. Only the button is added to the unmanaged layer – the command is still managed and so it is no in the solution. For this reason, the Command drop down will be empty on the Button, but the CommandCore property will contain the ID of the command that is referenced.
Hope this helps

Make Error message resizable or scrollable
When unable to publish solution that is BTW can be imported and published using standard CRM interface I receive "Your solution could not be imported" error. Because the text is long and not scrollable I can't read the entire message.
